HP is recalling batteries for various HP products which include HP Probooks, Pavilion, Notebooks and mobile workstations. This safety recall and replacement program is worldwide. The batteries involved have the potential to pose fire risk due to overheating. Some of these products affected has internal battery system which cannot be replaced by customer. Such batteries can be replaced by an authorized technician with no cost.

Products affected are

·         HP Probook 64x (G2 and G3),

·         HP ProBook 65x (G2 and G3),

·         HP x360 310 G2,

·         HP ENVY m6,

·         HP Pavilion x360,

·         HP 11 notebook computers,

·         HP ZBook (17 G3, 17 G4, and Studio G3) mobile workstations

 There is an option given by HP called “Battery Safety Mode” which is through BIOS update. Once this is initiated notebook or workstation will work without battery by connecting to power adapter. For validating one need to download BATTERY VALIDATION UTILITY exe file and run same. It takes some 30 seconds to display result and proceed to next step.
