Special Provision 376

Special provision 376 is applicable for transporting lithium batteries identified as damaged or defective, below table explains SP376 for compliance.

SP 376 of IMDG Code

Lithium batteries transported for disposal or recycling

Lithium batteries which are transported for disposal or recycling must be in accordance with Special Provision 377 of IMDG Code and shall be packed in accordance with packaging instruction P909. The packages shall be marked with words “”LITHIUM BATTERIES FOR DISPOSAL” or “LITHIUM BATTERIES FOR RECYCLING”.
